Kathryn

Hi! I'm Kathryn. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. And after spending 20 years working as a photojournalist abroad, Portland once again became home base. I began photographing weddings in 2011 and I love every, single part of the wedding day. And I do mean every single part. 

To capture the nuance and emotion that is right in front of me, and make more beauty with the elements of the day, it's like a creative playground.

I spend much of my time behind the camera thinking less about the trendy shot, and more about the impact that photograph will have on future generations. So, much of my focus is to distill the essence of what transpired in a moment and create a photograph of that.
I like to describe my photography style as genuine, relaxed, and artful- with a focus on beauty and spontaneity. And it is my hope that my work awakens your heart, even for a beat. And that it brings joy to you, and perhaps reflects some quality of life back to you that you forgot you knew.
I love a good party, but the truth is, I will probably spend most of said party talking to, and of course photographing, the babies and dogs!
